Get your Umbrellas ready... Crafty Balboa is right around the corner!

We are so excited to be hanging with Crafty Balboa again!

We can't help but think of the wonderful memories we have of out first show with Amy & the Crafty Balboa gang.

Such vivid memories of hiding under our tents & screaming our lungs out during the most enormously major thunder storm of our time.

No joke folks. Its was pouring... & lightening! We were panicking.... & screaming! ......and Laughing Hysterically!!!

Amy makes every Crafty event amazing but our first one is still our most favorite & memorable! It holds a special place in our hearts. When we found out that Amy was naming her Spring Show "April Showers" we couldn't help but chuckle knowing that we were a part of the small group of crafters that stood knees shaking & lips quivering as we faced the mother of all thunder storms. With water up to our ankles & lightening bolts hitting the water fountain we all realized that it might no longer be the best time for a Craft Show.

Though we had to pack it in, Crafty Balboa made it up to us & rescheduled a great show a few weeks later (unfortunately, we had hit the road for Spain, but we heard that the weather was wonderful! ).

For all Crafty Balboa events, there is a 50% chance of rain but a 100% chance of an amazing time with wonderful Artists & Crafters.

Don't forget to mark your calendars, you won't want to miss this show. If it's raining, no worries, we will be there. We are packing our Rain Slickers this year! ;)

Confessions of a Stash-aholic

I love a good Stash. No, not the kind you find on a man's (and sometime a lady's) face. I'm talking about the the kind you find in the back of a closet. Or the corner of a room. Or in my case, all over my apartment. I'm talking about a Craft Stash.

Some people collect coins, others collect spoons or postcards. I collect craft supplies and I have a problem. There.. I said it!

I consider myself to be a professional hobby-ist. I love a good hobby. I love trying new hobbies. And I love love love the supplies that come along with it.

Through the years I have collected all kinds of Stashes. Among them, an awesome Yarn Stash, a Jewelry Making Stash, a Book Binding Stash, the infamous Scrapbooking Stash (don't pretend that you don't have one). And the holy grail of all Stashes, my favorite, My Fabric Stash.

My Fabric Stash has become my new passion. I love to organize her (yes, I said Her :). Just the thought of buying new fabric brings a smile to my face. I prance around the fabric store weekly. And when a new packages arrives, I can barely contain myself and always end up tearing into it in the elevator on the way up to my apartment. So, I'm a little enthusiastic. That's fine, right?

Anywho, a local craft loving group, Handmade Philly, is putting together a supply swap this weekend, to help people clear out their old supplies. And it got me thinking, maybe it's time for me to sort through my supplies. But when I looked over at my stashes, they looked back at me with Big Doe Eyes and said, "No Kim, please don't let us go. We want to stay with you. We don't care if you never use us, We love you". Now who can say no to that. I can't let them go. They need me. And what if I want to get back into bookbinding or gimp bracelet making. Then I would have to start all over again.

Oh, who am I kidding. Something must be done. I have to get rid of some of these old supplies that I never use, or I am going to turn into one of those people who have to make pathways through my house, with craft supplies piled up to the ceiling. Chris & I will have to communicate by tapping on the supplies in Morse Code because we won't be able to find one another.

So the challenge is on. I am giving myself 1 month to clear out my old, wonderful, never did anything to deserve this, wish they could stay, craft supplies. At the end of the journey I will take a photo of all that I have collected and willingly (or unwillingly) dish them out to the crafting community.

Oh what a digital Morning, Oh what a digital Day...

I woke up this morning to WMMR's Preston & Steve discussing the "Word of the Year" & the "Word of the Decade". I had no guesses for the "Word of the Year", but for some reason it made me think back to the year that "bootylicious" was officially entered into the Oxford Dictionary. Random, I know.

Anywho, the word of the 2009 was... any guesses?.... anyone? .... well, it's: "Tweet". Of course it is, why didn't I think of that?

Now on to the good stuff. What I was really interested in. The Word of the Decade. I shouted my guess out to Chris and waited for the the WMMR gang to tell me if I was correct. As they are getting ready to announce it, I realize just how excited I was and how confident I was with my guess.
OK, so the word of the Decade.... of that last ten years....is.....is.... "Google"!

That was my guess. I was ecstatic. I shouted out to Chris: "I said that!, Did you hear me say that?, I said "google!", I was right!".You would have thought that I just won some awesome prize.

I was so happy for the word "Google" and I am glad it had claimed the #1 slot.

I love to Google. I even love the word Google. It's fun to say.
I know there are others like me with the same appreciation, right?

Need to know how many ounces there are in a gallon: Google it
Need to know how to make a Gordon Ramsey recipe?: Google it
Need to know where to buy a new car, because your poor "Vaan" crapped out on you: Google it!

So why am I sharing all of this, well ever since Christina & I began this wonderful Rogue journey we have been googling "Rogue Theory" to check how far we have moved up the list. I think we initially began at #40 and now.... drum roll....

Google: Rogue Theory
Our facebook: # 6
Our Website: #4
Our Etsy Shop: #2

YES! Our 2010 Goal is the #1 position on Google :)

Enjoy your day everyone!
Remember: "A Google a day, keeps the Doctor away".
(It does, I googled it, just to be sure :)

A Rogue Star

What better way to break into 20-10 than with a New Logo!

Chris has been hard at work over the last couple of months getting our "Rogue Star" ready, drawing inspiration from the old tie backs on the Philadelphia Row Homes.

We are so excited to share it with you and hope you love it as much as we do!
